The Lions Club of Pattaya will affiliate with a sister club in Singapore and help it celebrate its 50th anniversary while working jointly on charity projects.
Members of the Lions Club of Singapore East attended the Pattaya club’s Dec. 16 meeting at the A-One Royal Cruise Hotel. Club President Pol. Lt. Somchai Thongsuk welcomed the visiting Lions and announced that he will lead Pattaya members to the city-state Jan. 12-15 to attend the Singapore East chapter’s 50th anniversary celebration.

During the trip, the two clubs will sign an affiliation agreement to mutually support each other’s charitable efforts. During the meeting, the Singapore Lions donated $1,000 to their Pattaya brethren for club activities.
Members of other regional Lions Clubs, including Nongprue, Pattaya-Taksin, Pattaya-Naklua, Pattaya-Pratamnak, Banglamung, Chonburi-Sattahip and Chonburi-Sriracha attended the welcome meeting, which also saw the distribution of three scholarships to students who won the Pattaya club’s recent painting competition. Everyone exchanged club flags and presented souvenirs to the visitors.
