Nongprue residents learned how to make their own soaps and cleaners at a seminar to help sub-district residents save money and maybe even earn a little on the side.

Deputy Mayor Eneak Pattana-gnam hosted the Sept. 15 workshop in the Nernplabwan 9 Community, introducing Wira Thapkan, a Nongprue councilor who provided instructions of how to make household cleaning fluids to more than 60 residents.

(L to R) Nongprue councilor Wira Thapkan and Deputy Mayor Eneak Pattana-gnam introduce residents to the “Reduce Expenses and Create Revenue for the Community” project on how to create their own household fluids.

The project was one of many being organized throughout the sub-district using 50,000 baht in government funding for each community.

Residents were shown how to save money by making their own dishwashing fluid, laundry detergent, cleaners, liquid soap, and more.

Officials said it will save money for residents and some might even sell their handiwork on the side for extra cash.

Over 60 residents of Nernplabwan 9 Community participated in the project.
