Phoenix Gold Golf Club Monthly Scramble
The Billabong monthly scramble was held at the Phoenix Gold Golf Club and Resort, starting at 8.32 with 7 groups playing. Apart from the rain that was constant all day, it was a pleasant day because it was not hot.
The course was in fantastic condition but it was carts on the cart paths only so there was one casualty, him not being able to go the distance from the concrete to the ball.
As the conditions were not really conducive to playing great golf with the heavy air, it was at least one club more than you would normally play.
The scoring wasn’t that good, but there were no complaints. Every team scored in the 60s today with the team taking 3rd spot, Jim Swaney, Mark Mojon, visitors from Chang Rai, friends of Peter Rooke, and Geoff Couch making the team to score 63.7.
2nd spot went to Sasicha Duangkham, Nok Givens, Sean Merriman and Sandy Chapo with a net score of 61.7.
Glyn Davies, Michael Shavers and Andrew Scaiffe with Greg Ritchie not managing to make the distance, scored a nett 61 to take top spot.
