Graham Macdonald MBE, Chairman of the South African-Thai Chamber of Commerce (SATCC) makes his welcome address.

A fabulous evening of camaraderie, great music, fantastic food and a brilliant array of wines and drinks at the high-tech, high-energy refurbished Montien Hotel in the heart of Bangkok.

It was a spectacular evening put together by the chamber’s Jabulani Social team, with Linda and Benita smoothly orchestrating proceedings.

Ragil Ratnam acting as MC, invited Graham Macdonald, Chairman of the South African-Thai Chamber of Commerce (SATCC), to the podium to welcome over 200 guests and supporters.

It was the long-awaited return of the annual charity evening of music, food and dance by the South African-Thai Chamber in a post-Covid world.

With generous sponsorship and great door prizes, including two return flight tickets from Bangkok to Johannesburg courtesy of Ethiopian Airlines.

Money from the event will be donated to Nak Suu Charity. The Nak Suu Rugby Academy is a charity program based in Bangkok. Using Rugby as its building block, it was created to encourage and educate children on positive life choices, values, and skills. The Nak Suu Rugby Academy works directly with children and youth at risk.

This year’s South Africa Ball was billed as “Bring your Swing to the Sounds of Africa!” and was a resounding success. The South African-Thai Chamber of Commerce organised a wonderful, vibrant evening of South African food, wine and live entertainment by the dynamic South African duo Qadasi & Maqhinga. The DJ, Daniel Poole, kept the party mood swinging.

Looking after the service side, the ever-present and affable General Manager of the Montien Hotel Surawong, Pierre-Andre Pelletier, was seen everywhere, ensuring a smooth operation!

The dress code was traditional/colourful evening wear, with many embracing the colourful theme. The new ballroom with its LED pillars looked terrific. Perfectly matching the theme of the Ball.

Ragil Ratnam ensured the guests had fun throughout the evening.
