PSC Growling Swan Golf, played out of Bogey’s Bar & Grill
Monday, March 16 Parichat G.C. Stableford
Monday’s adventure was to Parichat Golf Course. Once upon a time just the mention of this course used to send a shiver down my spine (Thanks Dobbsie).
This course has been redone and I am being told that a lot of water hazards have been taken or changed. Jack Mosley talked us into giving the new format a chance. Well it’s our second visit in as many months and is still getting glowing reports. Did hear that one golfer lost 5 balls, that’s not too bad when you consider the Growling Swan record sits at 18 lost by one golfer at this course in one day. No and it wasn’t me.
Monday the course was in reasonable nic but if there is no rain soon this course along with numerous others may very well end up in a bad way. As earlier stated it wasn’t too bad, there was plenty of run and the greens played true. Not many on the course as we are seeing at this point of time.
Again yet another warm day, I do believe that we are in for a long hot and very dry season.
Playing from the white tees we were offering 1 division with 3 placings also 2 of the long putts and 2 of the near pins novelties up for grabs.
Well you can’t keep him out of the picture, it was that man Kissie yet again. Keith Buchanan stepped up to the plate and returned with a very good score of 39 points. Second past the post (one point in arrears of Keith) was Steve Younger, unlucky considering that he pulled up injured prior to allotted tee time. Third and last spot on the podium went to Steve Lynch in his last hit out with us this visit.
Winners from Parichat G.C.
1st Keith Buchanan (14) 39 pts.
2nd Steve Younger (14) 38 pts.
3rd Steve Lynch (3) 35 pts.
Near pins: #6 Bill Steinmann & #11 Steve Younger.
Long first putt: #9 Steve Younger & #18 Paul Kennedy.
