In a historic first, Pattaya, Thailand, is set to host the grand ‘Pattaya International Jazz Festival 2023’ on November 10th and 11th, under the captivating theme “The Rhythm of the Night.” The festival was officially announced by Mayor Poramet Ngamphichet and Somrudee Jitjong, Deputy Director-General of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) – Domestic Marketing in a press conference at ICONSIAM, a renowned venue in Bangkok.
The festival, a celebration of jazz music, will take place from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on central Pattaya beach, and it promises to be a night to remember. Notably, this event will feature the iconic American jazz artist, “Kenny G,” known for his soulful saxophone performances that have revolutionized the jazz music scene globally.
Alongside Kenny G, the festival will showcase a roster of exceptional artists, including Frank Rovillstone, a talented jazz vocalist from Moscow, and Willard Dyson, a New York-based jazz drummer. Thai artists like Singto Namchok, D Gerrard of ETC, and the fusion band INFINITY will also grace the stage. TAMI JONES ANDREWS and Waranyos Mitranon, promising young artists, will contribute to the colorful jazz landscape of Pattaya.
The festival is aimed at elevating Pattaya as the “City of Music and Arts” and integrating this event into the annual tourism calendar of Thailand. By doing so, Pattaya hopes to attract global travelers and make the city a prime destination for music enthusiasts from all corners of the world. This event marks a significant step toward promoting Pattaya as a hub for cultural and artistic experiences.
