Billabong golf June 15
Monday, June 15 Phoenix Gold
Phoenix Gold golf course was the place to be if you wanted to get wet and that’s what happened Monday. It was just steady rain from the third hole all the way around, although it did ease up by about the 15th hole.
There was only one casualty, Serge Straeten pulled out at halftime due to injury we think, not the rain.
The course was in great condition if you stayed on the short grass, but any errant shot was punished big time if you could find the ball.
Almost half the field of 16 players couldn’t make better than 30 points but some did and they were the winners today.
Malcolm Adamson beat Dan Margetts on a count back to take 4th place with 33 points. Thiery Petrement – it’s good to see you back mate – took 3rd with 34 points. Kiwi Bill Marsden took 2nd with 35 points and Lester Featherstonehaugh took 1st place with a handicap equaling 36 points.
