The 1st Thailand & International RC Power Boat Championship took place from January 26-27 at the Lakeland Cable Water-ski facility in East Pattaya with over 500 competitors from 6 ASEAN countries taking part.
The event was divided into various categories depending on engine size and hull design and the winners of the six divisions later faced off in a shoot-out to determine the overall winner.

Despite facing some stiff competition from his peers, 13 year old Chinarong Meemongkol from the Thai Koh Power team emerged victorious as the first RC Power Boat overall champion and was presented with the inaugural trophy and 30,000 baht for his efforts.
