Two Cameroonian Thai football league players were arrested in Pattaya after allegedly selling two grams of crystal methamphetamine to an undercover police officer.

Nana Nembot Delys, a reserve player for the Rayong club, and Munji Yannick Tita of Ratchaburi FC were taken into custody at the N & P Apartment in South Pattaya’s Rungland Village April 1.

The two 23-year-old footballers allegedly gave a female undercover officer two 0.97 g. packs of ya ice for 4,000 baht.  A subsequent search of their room on Soi Pormprapanimit unearthed almost another gram of ya ice as well as plastic bags used to sell it.

Police said Delys told them he was in Pattaya to try out for the Pattaya United team, as he did not play often for his Rayong club side due to injuries from a car crash.  He claimed a drug dealer left the ya ice in his room and he only sold the drugs because he was short on cash.

A Pattaya United Football Club executive denied Delys was a team member and the Cameroonian was charged with possession of a Class 1 narcotic.

Tita said he met his fellow countryman through league play and that they went out to party in Pattaya every night.  He was released after passing a drug test.
