The Organising Committee of the PTT Pattaya Open has announced 3 more wild cards for Thai players into the US$220,000 2011 PTT Pattaya Open.
Nungnudda Wannasuk and Tanaporn Thongsing have been given wild cards into qualifying and Varatchaya Wongteanchai has been given a wild card into the doubles main draw. In total 5 wild cards have been granted to Thai players to date into the tournament, Noppawan Lertcheewakarn and Nicha Lertpitaksinchai having already been given wild cards into the main draw of the singles competition.
In addition to the 5 wild cards, Thailand’s No 1 player, Tamarine Tanasugarn will also compete in the PTT Pattaya Open, which is being held at the Dusit Thani Pattaya from 6–13 February 2011.
The qualifying rounds of the tournament will be played on Sunday 6 February and Monday 7 February and includes some well-known names from around the region, such as India’s Sania Mirza, Japanese rising stars, Misaki Doi, and Kurumi Nara, Sesil Karatantcheva of Kazakhstan, who was beaten by Tamarine Tanasugarn in last year’s semi-final and Zarina Diyas another of Asia’s rising stars.
The main draw matches featuring well-known stars Vera Zvonareva, Ana Ivanovic, Daniela Hantuchova and Maria Kirilenko will start on Monday 7 February with play commencing from 15.00 daily. Tickets which are selling fast are still available at 300, 500,800 and 1,200 baht.
