Monthly Scramble
Phoenix for the monthly scramble Friday. With 7 teams competing we were away right on time and breezed around the course in no time at all. The course was in great condition with fast greens and fairways that even with placing were in grand shape.
The scoring wasn’t as low as it usually is but maybe the going was a little tougher than normal. The Captain had a little mishap with the ATM in the club house which gave him his card back but not the money. So he spent quite a while on the phone to the bank to solve the problem, which happened to his satisfaction but left Tim Knight doing the starting for which I thank you very much mate.
The team of Helmut Hebstriet, Jeff North, Arch Armstrong and Graham Beaumont took 2nd spot with a net score of 59.9.
The only other team to score in the 50s and win the tournament was Jez Lees, Gareth Gill, Dave Mathers and Gavin Perfect with 59.1.
