The Backyard Golf Society
It was a very overcast day for the Backyard Boys at the Emerald on Friday, March 7. The clouds kept the sun at bay the whole round so the temperature didn’t go too high, a nice way to play golf.
It was noted by all that it was a far quicker round today; the course wasn’t jam packed like the few previous weeks and it seems low season is on its way, which always makes some of us happy. Quite a few of our lads have gone back home and others back to work so our group was down to seven today.
Mickey (center rear) celebrates his win with the staff at the Candy Bar.
Mickey came first in the comp today with 38points and he sank some very nice putts. JJ ran him a close second with 37 while the ‘Quiet Man’ came third with 36.
The skins were dished out evenly with Mickey and ‘Foos yer doos’ getting four apiece, ‘Randyman’ and the ‘Quiet Man’ had three each while Mike and JJ shared two between them.
‘Randyman’ took the near pin at the short par-three 15th.
After the presentations we headed into town for some drinks where the winner stood his hand as has become traditional in our little band.
