Friday, Oct. 25, Treasure Hill G.C.

With all the rain that has fallen in Pattaya and surrounding areas recently it was, perhaps, a surprise that the 92 competitors in October’s monthly tournament had a rain free day on this challenging course.  The weather was cool, by Thailand standards, and a slight breeze made it great for golf.  The course was presented in good condition and the management saw to it that we had the course exclusively to ourselves, which saw most rounds completed in just over 4 hours.

Golf Chairman Joe Mooneyham and Social Chairman Nigel Cannon arrived early to prepare for registration and place the appropriate markers on the course and to find staff and caddies ready for our day.  With some last minute adjustments to the starting sheets all were away on time at the 1st and 10th tees.

Treasure Hill has a reputation as a tough track, however, there were some good scores in all flights.  The current PSC Club Champion Mike Allidi (2) showed his championship qualities with a superb 72 gross to take the low gross prize.

In ‘A’ Flight – playing stroke play – it was good to welcome back Kari Kuparinen (6) who was in top spot with 71 net.  Meanwhile it was the ‘old warrior’ Ted Morris (14) with the best Stableford score of the day with 40 points to take ‘B’ Flight.  37 points from Michael Jefferys (18) and 39 from Joel Flor (24) were enough to secure first place in ‘C’ and ‘D’ Flights respectively.

With just a few ladies playing today it was the smiling new face of Chura Srinual (34) who returned the best score of 29 in the Ladies Flight.

This month’s presentation was at Lewiinski’s where Colin and his team provided a mouthwatering buffet to cater for all tastes and diets!  As is usual, the ‘Lewiinski’s Lovelies’ were on hand to deal with drink orders.

Presentation time and Nigel called order and welcomed all and expressed appreciation to Colin and his team and introduced Golf Chairman Joe.  He expressed his appreciation to the day’s competitors and gave details of upcoming PSC golfing events for the next few months.  He also announced that PSC were providing marshals for the PGA tournament at Amata Springs on December 12th – 15th.  There are still some vacancies for this roll and full details are in the Clubhouse and on the PSC website for all those interested in this great opportunity.

Then it was back to Nigel who announced the winners and Joe presented the prizes.  The lucky draw followed then it was goodnight from Nigel, who reminded all that the PSC Christmas Party will be held on Wednesday 11th December at the Town in Town Hotel.
