Tennis star Ana Ivanovic will be making her second appearance at WTA sanctioned PTT Pattaya Open when the 2013 edition kicks off from 27 January – 3 February at the Dusit Thani Hotel.
Currently ranked No 13 in the world, the Serbian is a former Grand Slam champion and a holder of 11 WTA titles. In 2012 she began to find the form which took her to the No 1 slot in 2008 and is hoping to add to her titles at Pattaya next year.
Another form player entering the PTT Pattaya Open is Maria Kirilenko of Russia. She reached the final of the PTT Pattaya Open this year, losing narrowly to Daniela Hantuchova, and finished the 2012 season ranked at No 14 in the world in singles and No 7 in the world in doubles. Her doubles achievements included winning the year-end championship in October partnering Nadia Petrova.

Making her 5th successive appearance in Pattaya is crowd favourite Vera Zvonareva of Russia whose 2012 season has been blighted by injury, which has kept her out of competitive tennis since Wimbledon. She has now returned to fitness and will be eager to complete a hat-trick of titles at Pattaya next year.
Also making a return to Pattaya is Sabine Lisicki of Germany, like Zvonareva her season was marred by injuries, yet despite the setbacks she ended the season ranked at No 37 in the world on the back of good performances at Wimbledon, where she reached the quarter-final and at the Australian Open, where she fell in the 4th round.
The 2013 PTT Pattaya Open will commence with the qualifying rounds on 27 – 28 January, with main draw matches starting on 28 January with play starting from 15.00 daily until Friday 1 February. For the final 2 days of the tournament, Saturday 2 February and Sunday 3 February matches will start from 16.00.
