PSC Golf from Lewinski’s Golf Bar
Monday, Nov. 5, Green Valley – Stableford
Today marked the first day of Lewinski’s new golfing schedule, designed to give everyone a chance to play Monday to Friday on some of the wonderful courses to be found in the Pattaya area.
The weather was gorgeous; sunny with a very pleasant cool wind and although we were a little late teeing off, due to The Golf Club having higher numbers than usual following the funeral of Steve Ellison, yesterday, it was nice to enjoy the friendly banter on the tee.
The greens had been sanded recently but on close inspection, they were quite reasonable and ok to putt on, despite the usual grizzles from a few. Two groups was a satisfactory start to the high season and the choice to play here on a Monday instead of the large number on Fridays, seems to be the right decision.
The day was won by Alan Atwell with an excellent 37 points playing off 12. Ning was second on countback, scoring 31 points off h’cap 22, beating John Harrison, also with 31 points playing off 13.
Wednesday, Nov. 7, Chee Chan – Stableford
We had twelve players today, sent out in four 3-balls as there was no-one on the course, enabling a good pace of play on a cool day with a slight breeze. This course is magnificent, great views, a good variety of hole designs and in excellent condition. Right now this course is up there with the very best and should be a ‘must play’ on every discerning golfer’s calendar.
Two divisions, with the split coming at 20+ and Div A was won by Monday’s Green Valley winner, Alan Atwell with 34 points (h’cap 14). In second was Jay Burns with 33 points (h’cap 3), who beat John Emmerson on countback (17/15 back nine).
Tim Knight ran away with Div B, scoring 38 points off his slope adjusted h’cap of 30; with Reijo second on 35 and Bob Fagan third on 30.
