Adventure racers will be flocking to the capital next weekend for the The Bangkok Ultra Trail Festival 2014, which is being staged at the Korean International School in Nong Chok on Sunday, August 3.
Consisting of a series of 7km laps, the race will take place in the rural splendor of Thai farmland, immersing the runners in the picturesque environment of green paddy fields, wildlife and the 3km long Nong Chok Fishing Park Lake. It promises to offer a breath of fresh air while still being in close proximity to bustling Bangkok (only a 45 minute drive from Bangkok city center).
Trail running at Nong Chok offers a fun, sporting day out for everyone.
The event has been designed to seduce road runners and newcomers into the beautiful world of trail running and has been carefully crafted to suit all fitness levels, so that all runners – whether a newbie or die hard trail runner- can take part in a day packed with sport, festivity and achievement.
The lap format will see the runners passing through the venue several times, past the crowd of onlookers who will be cheering them on and offering encouragement. There will be a distance for every fitness level, including races of 7km, 14km, 21km and 50km distances.
