The Pattaya Golf Society (IPGC) at Rabbi’s Elephant Bar
July with the Pattaya Golf Society started with a visit to Bangpra on Monday, 2nd, to play a stableford event on the immaculate course with greens running at their best. Such is the attraction of Bangpra that four Pattaya groups were enjoying the day there but all ran smoothly. Going off on time the PGS made the best of it with many white tees well back because of tee maintenance.
Except for one golfer the group found scoring quite tough and thirty points was enough for a share of second place for Seil Revels, Jean Morel and Joe Niisato but it was to be a “good day at the office” for the organiser, Mr Len, who finished with 35 points, despite wiping the final two holes after an interminable delay on the seventeenth tee saw his energy and rhythm dissipate.
There were no birdie ‘2’s and the Booby Bevy went to Dave Edwards for finally joining the “hero to zero” club after his excellent golf during the previous two weeks saw him post the day’s lowest score. Rabbi’s free beer draw was won by Tim Lazecki, at last pursuing his favourite sport again after a long layoff with injury. Indeed, an excellent start to the month!
