Phoenix Members Golf Society
The last Tuesday of the month is always our stroke play tournament for the Trattoria Italiana voucher, donated by Giorgio Baccioli. Usually stroke play sorts out most player’s good and bad points, but today John Bartley could only display his better points.
Returning a net score of 62 (Gross 81) enabled John to claim the winner’s prize plus the voucher and he was way ahead of anyone else in the field. Everyone has the right to be famous for 15 minutes, however John’s fame ran into about 2 hours at the Relax Bar after our game. Only one problem with playing so well is that the next game is sure to bring you back to earth with a big band!

In second place with a very modest net 71 was the ever improving Richard Baldwin, third was Sergio Poggi with net 72 and fourth place was claimed by another man in form, Peter Harris, also with net 72.
Near pins went to Ulf Berggren, Mike Gerrard, Trevor Greef & Bob Neylon.
Lucky draw winners today were Ulf Bergstrom, David Lusha & Eamon Murtagh.
We play every Tuesday, Friday & Sunday at Phoenix at approx 11.30 am each day. From April 1, Phoenix green fees for visitors are as follows: Sports Day’s (Tuesday & Thursday) at 800 baht green fee, Monday, Wednesday & Friday members guest rate 1,000 baht green fee. Caddies and carts extra. Weekends, Members guest rate 1,600 baht green fee.
