PSC Golf from Lewiinski’s Golf Society
Sunday, May 31, Green Valley – Stableford
A Flight
1st Christian Boysen (13) 38pts
2nd Pat Regan (12) 38pts
3rd Don Hachey (15) 37pts
B Flight
1st Barry Copestake (16) 43pts
2nd Peter Henshaw (22) 40pts
3rd Gabriel Enright (21) 40pts
It was a fair sized field with a lot of talent but it was left to B Flight to provide the fireworks this Sunday. Barry ‘the boot’ Copestake was top in the second tier and man of the match with a 43 point masterpiece, proving his dedication to the driving range is starting to pay off.
Barry was three clear of Irishman Peter ‘the silver surfer’ Henshaw and Gabriel ‘the thunder from down under’ Enright; the luck of the Irish held sway for Peter.
Barry Copestake.
In A Flight a couple of Lewiinski’s regular Sunday players went to count back, both with 38 points. Peter had used up all the luck of the Irish as Christian Boysen edged the Sunday specialist Pat Regan for the top podium spot. Don Hacky rounded out the flight with a sound 37 points.
Monday, June 1, Plutaluang N & W – Stableford
1st Gabriel Enright (21) 44pts
2nd Danny Senko (8) 41pts
3rd Dan Willits (11) 39pts
4th Gerry Rafferty (17) 38pts
5th Peter Henshaw (22) 36pts
Aussie Gabriel Enright, obviously unsatisfied with Sunday’s third place finish, decided to put the pedal down on the course designed by the Royal Thai Navy. His effort was rewarded with top spot in the single flight and earned him the man of the match honours.
Gabriel’s magnificent 43 points made Danny Senko’s excellent 41 look quite tame. Danny Willits filled the third spot on the podium with a very creditable 39 while Gerry Rafferty followed Dan up the podium steps a shot in arrears.
The fifth podium place went to a count back and, as is often the case, Peter ‘the Silver Surfer’ edged Allan Wilkinson off the podium altogether, both carding solid even par rounds.
Friday, June 5, St. Andrews – Stableford
1st Gerry Roche (19) 38pts
2nd Paul Bray (8) 35pts
3rd Andrew Kellaher (9) 34pts
Sweltering weather under oppressively heavy skies left many of the day’s contestants completely exhausted and grateful to be able to finish without dropping from heat stroke, and even for those that handled the conditions best, it was truly a result just to complete the eighteen holes.
Gerry ‘the Irish rover’ Roche, no doubt used the same type conditions when playing back home in summer time, seemed to deal with the temperature the best as he swept to an impressive 38 points.
Paul Bray put in another fine performance as he lifted the silver with 35 points and Andrew Kellaher, starting to get back to his old form as he starts to play more often, came in third with 34. It will surely not belong before he is once again gracing the top step of the podium.
