Green Valley was looking pretty good today, with nicely cut fairways and dry conditions seem to make it a bit easier than usual course.
Jimmy ‘AK-47’ Bell stepped up for the challenge to record one of his best score, 46 points (his best ever score is 49). Mickey ‘nine holes’ Beresford returned to some form as took the silver spot on the podium with a fine 41 and was two shots clear of Chaten ‘the Rajah’ Patel. Barry ‘the bookworm’ Tregurtha filled the fourth step with a solid 38 points while Barry Copestake rounded out the flight with 37.
There were four ‘2’s, coming from Pat Regan, Peter LeNoury, Phil Taylor and Martin Zimmerman.

5th Pat Regan (16) 37pts

We had 16 players out today to play our regular slot at Green Valley. We teed off slightly later than normal and this seemed to suit some of the players as all five podium slots had subpar scores. The man of the match was Scotland’s very own Mark Wood with a fantastic 44 points. It is sometimes hard to say something nice about our good friend Brian Wilkinson but we had to take our hats off to him as he posted a great 41 points and had a ‘2’ as well.
Third spot on the podium went to Mark Watkins with a solid 38 points and two players were tied on 37, Bob St Aubin just edging Ireland’s Pat Regan for the fourth spot.

We had 16 keen golfers signed up for our regular Friday trip to play the Emerald Golf Club. It was not going to be an easy day out as this course is always a difficult test of golf even on the best of days.
It was therefore somewhat of a surprise to see Mickey ‘nine holes’ Beresford turn in a fantastic 44 points, a near pin and the only ‘2’ of the day. Jimmy ‘AK-47’ Bell took the second step on the podium with 40 points that would normally win the match. Nick ‘Elvis ‘Shaw and Billy ‘the hat’ Eyles both with fine scores of 39 points went head to head in a count back, with Nick’s back-nine more favorably dispersed. Pat ‘the Irish rover’ Regan closed the flight with a solid even par round.
