As was to be expected for this time of the year, and just after Songkran, our numbers were well down and just 14 keen and faithful golfers assembled at Lewiinski,s for the journey to Rayong Green Valley for our regular Sunday bash.
The weather was very hot with heavy thunder and lightning but no rain. The course was wet on the fairways so ‘lift and place’ was the order of the day but the greens were spectacular.
If you had 33 points today you were guaranteed a podium place so it was a three-way count back. The in-form Bill Eyles was again on the podium to take the third place with a back-nine of 6. Second spot went to Andy Harrison with a back six score of 7, while Mickey ‘nine holes’ Beresford took the top step on the podium and the man of the match honours with a back-nine score of 17.
Wednesday, May 10, Green Valley – Stableford
A small but talented gang left Lewiinskis to travel to play Green Valley as the rain clouds gathered. The course was wet but very playable and we teed off on our allotted time with no hold ups until we reached the 14th hole when the heavens opened up with a massive thunder storm. Lightning was striking everywhere it was decided to abandon the game so the overall winner was the weather.
