PSC Golf from the Phantom Golf Society
Friday, April 24, Phoenix (Mountain & Ocean) – Stableford
Well – the Pattaya Songkran “madness” was over so it was back to some semblance of sanity as we once again returned to our Friday’s at Phoenix competition and we had a reasonable turnout, despite many golfers still being away.
Our first group got away pretty much at our scheduled 10.00am tee time and the weather was good, although with rain clouds above, and the golf course was quite ok despite most of the greens still recovering from recent sanding & coring.
Peter Blackburn.
There was much thunder & lightning during the middle of the round and as we were on the 13th green the heavens opened so we adjourned to the adjacent drink station, along with another 4 groups who made it there and of course we were all patient and confident of a continuance. After about 45 minutes we were all set to go and as usual the greens drained very quickly and there was minimal water on the fairways. No further weather problems were encountered and our round was over in around five hours, including the break.
Your writer, Peter Blackburn, emerged as the winner with an honest 36 points, 1 point ahead of San Miguel Light “expert” Ian Pickles in second spot and Torben Lindgaard finished third with 33.
1st Peter Blackburn (15) 36pts
2nd Ian Pickles (15) 35pts
3rd Torben Lindgaard (31) 33pts
