Jomtien Golf with the IPGC
Monday, August 15, Plutaluang – Stableford
Our first visit here after a few months lay off and we were allocated the West and North courses but after a few discussions with the starter we switched to the North and South courses which pleased everyone.
The course has improved since our last visit here but it is still not everyone’s favourite although the majority enjoyed the day. There were only five groups out today and the cut in division 1 was 7-18 and 19 + in division 2.
Playing off 15 now, Neville Scurrell won division 1 with 37 points and always in the reckoning and winning on a back nine count-back of 17/16, Chris Voller beat Bryan Rought after they both came in with 33 points.
The organiser won division 2 with a meager 29 points and in second place three points behind an 11/11 back nine was tied, an 8/8 on the back six was also shared, but finally Rod Howett beat Joe Kubon 5/4 on the back three holes to take second.
Chris Voller birdied the fourth on the South course to win the only ‘2’ in division 1 and there were 4 rollovers in division 2 to Pattaya Country Club.
