Sunday, Sept. 23, Green Valley – Stableford
1st Craig Hitchens (13) 36pts
2nd Stuart Brown (7) 35pts
3rd Kevyn Wright (11) 35pts
We had our smallest group out here at Green Valley today in a long time even though high season is just around the corner. We were lucky with the weather, although we got a very heavy shower on the 10th we waited in the shop for half an hour till it cleared up and were then able to finish our game.
Craig Hitchens was the only one to play to his handicap today and he won with thirty six points. We then had two players with thirty five with Stuart Brown winning the countback to come second and Kevyn Wright losing out and having to settle for third.
For the second week in a row we had no ‘2’s so a good carry over to next week.
Tuesday, Sept. 25, Eastern Star – Stableford
A small field of 9 players today for our regular monthly game here. The weather was not great with light rain falling for most of the round. The course was playing its full length & with no run on the fairways it was a tough day.
Keeping with our current theme of players returning back to Pattaya & winning on their first game back, Jim Traynor (28) was in top spot with 36 points. Joe McArdle (17) rued a few missed chances & came second with 32. In his last game for this trip, Ken Hobbs (30) was third with 29 points, keeping Joe Peters from the podium on countback.
There were no 2’s today.
Thursday, Sept. 27, Burapha – Stableford
1st Kevin Blake (9) 38pts
2nd Gerry Hannan (12) 36pts
We were back on the A and B courses today here at Burapha. The course was playing very long today as it was still wet after all the rain and also because although we played off the white tees most of them were actually well back on the blue tee boxes as they were renovating the normal white tees. Nonetheless we still managed to get a few very good scores from what was a small group.
Kevin Blake got back into form today and won with an excellent thirty eight points. Gerry Hannan has just arrived back and was playing his first game for this trip and he also played very well and came second with thirty six.
Once again we had no ‘2’s today.
