Monday, June 16, Pattana – Stableford
Upon arrival we were told the A course was now shut for two months of green renovations so we were allocated the B and C nines.
The cut today was 5-21 in division 1, and playing off 7 Mika Viljakainen shot 38 points to win the top flight ahead of Chris Voller in second with 30.
In division 2 Roar Berger, playing off 30, came in with 37 points to head the field and Peter Grant took second with 33.

Near pins went to Sid Ottaway and Roar Berger but nobody managed to record a ‘2’.
Wednesday, June 18, Treasure Hill – Stableford
This was our first visit here for quite some time and we found the tee boxes to be in immaculate condition and the rest of the course also measuring up well.

The best score of the day was returned from the Chinese Airlines captain Tony Bless to win division 1 (0-19) with 37 points. Paul Hartley claimed second spot on 30 and always in the reckoning Chris Voller was third with 28.
Thirty five points was the winning score in division 2 for Rod Howett while Pepo Frick rolled in second on 30 and in third place with 26 was Bryan Priestley.
Rod Howett was the only near pin winner of the day and Tony Bless picked up four rollovers in division 1 ‘2’s pot while Paul Hartley also recorded a birdie on the 17th for the only winner in division 2.
We said bon voyage to David Taylor today, going back to the UK before returning here in mid October.
Friday, June 20, Eastern Star – Stableford
It was a very busy course here today with quite a few groups in front of our regular allocated tee time and two societies also teeing off just after us. We had six groups out today with the cut set at 10-17 and 18+.
Still in form, Tony Bless won Division 1 with 40 points ahead of Frank Kelly in second four points behind and Eiichi Matsumoto beat Terry Madsen 19/18 on the back nine for third as they both came in with 34 points each.
Bryan Priestley topped division 2 with 34 points and Andy Baber beat Ray Gott on a 17/16 back-nine count back for second after they both came in with 32 points.
Near pin prizes were won by Tony Bless (2), Arthur Hancock, Bryan Rought and Frank Kelly.
There were no ‘2’s recorded so all to play for on June 27 in the 1-2-3 stableford event here.
