Monday, August 28, Phoenix Gold – Stableford

Just a couple of groups today at Phoenix Gold and there really wasn’t one bad score.  Playing the Lakes and Ocean nines the greens were a delight to putt on and were soft enough to hold the ball, always supposing you could hit them.

As stated previously the scores were very good, with 36 points from Capt Bob taking third place, second going to Gerard Lambert with 37 and the top spot being filled by George Barrie with 39 points. There weren’t enough players to warrant a ‘2’s competition.

Wednesday, August 30, Phoenix Gold – Medal

The monthly medal was played at the Phoenix Gold and after recent rain it was carts on the path only.  With five groups playing we got away a little early as the course was not very busy at all.

The scoring was quite good and coming in third today was Auke Engelkes with net 71 on a count back over Vincent Smyth.  Second place went to Bob Newell with a net 70, and taking the top spot for the first time in the medal was Capt Bob with a net 69.

There were five ‘2’s, coming from Graham Beaumont, Bill Marsden, George Barrie and Auke with two.

Wednesday, August 30, Silky Oak – Medal

The ladies medal took place at Silky Oak and with 19 ladies playing it was a good day out for them.  The scores were also good with Miss Ooh taking fourth place with net 73, beating Miss Porn on a count-back.  Third place went to Miss Tan with a net 71 net and second to Miss Phin with a net 70.  The winner by a country mile was Miss Eng with 84 off the stick for a net 63, a great score indeed and a smiling lady took the trophy from Brian.

Friday, Sept. 1, Burapha –
Stableford

Burapha C and D loops were in great condition today, the greens on the back-nine not quite as fast as the front side but were still ok.

Taking third place was John Anderson with 36 points, one behind Chris Dodd in second while Helmut Hebstreit took the top spot with 38 points.

There was only one ‘2’, coming from Ramsay Smith.
