Tuesday, March 6, The Emerald – Stableford
On Tuesday we went to The Emerald and the weather was sunny and warm. The course was in quite good condition after the rain the night before but the greens were very slow.
We had reasonable scores and a good one. Bob Edwards was playing his last week before returning home and wanted to show the recent improvement to his game. He won with 41 stableford points ahead of Jonathan Pratt in second with 33. Paddy Devereux took third with 31 points, beating Willem Lasonder on the count-back.
Near pins went to Paddy Devereux, Bob Edwards and Tony Wakeling.
Thursday, March 8, Bangpakong – Stableford
Bangpakong was our venue on Thursday and the long drive there was rewarded with a beautifully maintained course. The weather was quite hot today, some dark clouds looked threatening but we kept dry.
We had an exciting game between Bob Edwards, Ty Anderson and Willem Lasonder who all played consistently and came in with high scores. It was again Bob Edwards who won with 43 points, beating Ty Anderson on a count-back. Willem had to settle for third despite posting 42 points.
Near pins were claimed by Dave Smith and Bob Edwards.
