PSC golf from Rendezvous Resort
Tuesday, May 14, Bangpra – Stableford
Tuesday was a long awaited return to Bangpra, a course that is not readily accessible throughout the high season. The course was in good condition, with the greens running truly and noticeably more receptive to the well struck shot than previous years. The heat was oppressive, so let’s hope for a bit of breeze to come in over the next few weeks.
Graham Briggs (26) playing the course for the first time, shot a day’s best of 36 points, ahead of Jeff Wylie (7) who signed for 34points, with Colin Quinlan (9) rounding out the podium with 33 points. Near pins went to Colin, Jeff, Dave & Owen.
Thursday, May 16, Pattana – Stableford
Pattana was our venue for Thursday’s game, with the B & A combination our test, again in the heat, with little or no breeze for relief. The course was in good condition with smooth well grassed fairways, while the greens were running fast and true.

Scores were generally pretty close, with Colin Quinlan (9) just edging Owen Walkley (9) on count back 19/18 after both signed for a solid 34 points. Colin and Owen hogged the prizes today, with the 2 of them sharing the near pins between them also.
We had a group attend the PSC monthly tournament at Pleasant Valley on Friday, with mixed results. Joel Flor (20) got third spot in D Flight with 40 points, and Clive Hoseason (20) was on a good thing after 25 points on the front 9, but he faded badly, to just miss the prizes. Same could be said for A Flighter Jeff Wylie, who was playing well but had a brain fade mid round to shoot himself out of contention. Jeff and Joel each got a technical prize, Jeff with a near pin, while Joel got the long drive.
