We were back for our usual Thursday game here at Burapha where again we played the A and B courses on what was a beautiful day for golf.
Unfortunately for him, Russell Gilroy’s magic run came to an end today though not by much. He had won our last five outings and while it looked for a time today that he was going to make it six in a row, it didn’t happen. Russell had 22 points after eight holes but blanks on the ninth and tenth and a few double bogies after that meant that he had only fourteen on the back-nine and lost out for the winner’s spot on a count back to Stuart Brown. Stuart had 21 on the front and his fifteen on the back was enough to end Russell’s winning streak.
Pat Carty took the third place with 34 points and to make it even a better pay day, Pat also had the only ‘2’ of the day.
