Cafe Kronborg played at Treasure Hill Golf Club on Monday. The course was in excellent condition, with the recent wet weather making the fairways lush and the greens receptive. As normal the greens were fast paced, which made hitting the ball into the green below the hole a must and even then putting was tricky.

The A Flight winner was Rob Brown with 34 points, once again the best score of the day and the lowest gross playing off his 7 handicap. In second place was Richard Kubicki with 33 points, a superb 21 points on the front was followed by a dire 12 on the back, funny how the game can turn on a sixpence. A surprised Ty Anderson came third winning a countback for a change and beating Jan Lovgreen into fourth.

In B Flight the golfers unsurprisingly struggled even more than the A flighters and the points scored overall were low to say the least. Taking first place was Kurt Sandgaard with a very respectable 33 points, Second was Carole Kubicki with 32 points, one too many good drives and chances wasted to get to a winning score, but respectable non-the-less as Treasure Hill is especially difficult for the ladies. Third was the returning Tore Eliassen with 31 points and fourth was Marie Jany with 28 and a first visit to the winners enclosure this trip.

Cafe Kronborg played at Plutaluang Navy Course on Thursday, with the South and East being booked, but a quick discussion at the starters hut and North and West became the challenge for the day. Maybe not the best decision, as unbeknown to the organiser the greens had been spiked and to add to the difficulty they had been cut tight so they were really fast. Getting the ball to hold the line was not easy.

Some players coped better than others and the A flight managed better than the B flight. The fact that we played off the yellow tees, which were somewhat forward, meant scores were not as bad as they might have been and a couple of players managed to beat their handicap.

The A Flight winner with his first win of the season was Ty Anderson with an impressive 38 points, the score of the day. Ty was relieved there was no countback as he had not done well on these in recent rounds. Second was Mr. Consistency, Rob Brown with a solid 37 points, a score which you might reasonably have expected to be a winning one on the day. Third was Henning Olsen with a very respectable 35 points.

In the B Flight Kurt Sandgaard continued his purple patch to take first place with a sound 36 points. A possible handicap reduction awaits Kurt. Gordon Clegg was second with 32 points, starting to come to terms with his much reduced handicap from earlier in the season, and third spot was decided on countback with 2 players having 31 points.  Kai Aabling took it with an impressive countback of 20 points, this being his last game before returning to Denmark for the spring. Carole Kubicki who struggled on the back lost out, only making 12 points on the back nine.
