Fresh off victory in the ICTSI Sherwood Hills Classic in the Philippines last month, Thailand’s Itthipat Buranatanyarat brought his hot form home with him to fire a final round 69 and card an 18-under total of 270 to win the Singha Championship at Green Valley G.C. in Ban Chang last Sunday.
The 21-year old Buranatanyarat made five birdies and two bogeys on the final day to win the tournament by three shots from second placed amateur Suradit Yongcharoenchai, defending champion Chapchai Nirat and Sutijet Kooratanapisan. Buranatanyarat took home 290,000 baht in prize money while Yongcharoenchai received the trophy as the best amateur in the field.
Manuschaya Zeemakorn was the winner in the 3 day women’s tournament. The 17-year old shot a 68 in the final round to finish on 213 and one clear of Pannarat Thannapolboonyaras and amateur Parinda Khoka, who tied for second.
