PSC Golf Bunker Boys at The Ranch

Monday, May 9, Khao Kheow B & C – Stableford

1st Les Hall (24) 34pts

2nd Neil Carter (16) 34pts

3rd Stuart Tinkler (15) 33pts

Near Pins: Geoff Parker, Neil Carter, Stuart Tinkler, Gerry Cooney.

A small contingent of 11 brave souls made it to Khao Kheow on a very hot and humid day.  The course was in far better condition than the golfers, who struggled around the B and C course and where seven of the eleven failed to make 30 points.

Gerry Cooney.

Neil Carter continued his fine run of form (which apparently the handicapper hasn’t noticed!) with 34 points only to be beaten on count back by Les Hall (to whom the handicapper continues to be very generous).  Stuart Tinkler took third with 33 points.

Wednesday, May 11, Pattavia – Stableford

1st Gerry Cooney (16) 35pts

2nd Les Burns (33) 34pts

3rd Stuart Tinkler (15) 34pts

Near Pins: Frank Harrigan, Stuart Tinkler, Geoff Parker, PJ Redman.

Our thanks to Stuart Tinkler who kindly took over the duties of collecting the dues and arranging the playing partners as well as allocating transport.  Thirteen players made their way up the 331, which is now a pleasure with most of the roadworks complete.

The three groups enjoyed a day on a course that is remarkably well maintained with good quality greens which proved a little testing at times.  Gerry Cooney managed to hold off the fast finishing pair of Les Burns and Stuart Tinkler and took the prime position with 35 points.  For a change we held our prize giving in the clubhouse after the game before heading home.

Friday, May 13, The Emerald – Stableford

1st Les Burns (33) 38pts

2nd Jimmy Carr (18) 36pts

Near Pins: Stuart Tinkler, Jimmy Carr, Alan Barnard.

Only eight players made the trip down to Ban Chang to a course that is always a pleasure to play and where all the holes are well laid out.

Les Burns once again played well shortly before his return to home and took the win with 38 points ahead of Jimmy Carr in second.  We again held our after golf functions at the course before making the return trip.
