Jomtien Golf with the IPGC

Monday, July 25, The Emerald – Stableford

Heavy rain overnight here in Jomtien and there were gloomy threatening clouds in the distance as we head off towards the course.  We were lucky with the weather today however as we only had a short 2 minute downpour as the last group came down the 18th fairway.

Only one division out today and with 40 points Paul Butler topped the podium, eight points ahead of Curtis Hessler in second and there were four 28-pointers fighting for third place; Terry Madsen prevailing on count back over Neil Gamble, Sid Crawley and Tony Bless.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Paul Butler and Steve Godfrey and (Div 2) Don Head and David Phillips.

There were no ‘2’s recorded today.

Wednesday, July 27, Greenwood – Stableford

An almost similar field out as of Monday and we were playing the A and C nines today off the white tees.  The weather looked promising and the course was in very good condition, especially the greens which were very slick and with the package deal the round was enjoyed by all.

China airlines pilot Tony Bless won the day with an even par 36 points while Steve Godfrey, in his last game with us for a couple of months, came in second one point behind and Paul Butler was third with 33 points.
