Friday 29th Nov Phoenix Gold Monthly scramble

The monthly scramble this month was held at the Phoenix Gold golf course in conditions just great for golf. The Lakes and Ocean loops were in great condition as was the weather. It is always a fun day out with a fair bit of banter going on between the teams. With ten teams competing, we were away on time and with no hold ups anywhere on the course.

The scoring was not too bad with most teams scoring in the low 60s but there was a few that did a little better than that. Paul O’Mahony, Paul Greenaway, Steve Dodd and Andrew Skaiffe took third place with a net score of 59. Second place went to Colm Lawlor, Robert Cross, Auke Engelkes and Bob Butler with a score of 58.2.

The winners were the team of Cambodian misfits, Greg Ritchie 30 handicap, Dave Bramley now back to his 14 handicap, Graham Beaumont playing off 16 with allegedly a very sore shoulder, and Richard Steadman off his 18 handicap with nearly a record score 54.3. A great round boys for sure just .3 of a shot off the record of the lowest round ever in the years this event has been played.
