Monday, May 23, Royal Lakeside (white tees) – Stableford
1st Neil Carter (14) 35pts
2nd Les Hall (23) 34pts
3rd Geoff Parker (15) 33pts
Near Pins: P Allen, Steve Durey

There was a good turnout of 12 players for the long trip to Royal Lakeside to visit a course that is always in tip top condition with well tended greens that take a lot of putting skills to master.
Neil Carter is currently in form and was able to put together back to back wins to claim the podium and also to take the lead in Golfer of the Month award. Les Hall, also showing a return to form, was only one shot behind in second.

A strong breeze kept temperatures down but it didn’t help much with the scores as a number of golfers had good opening nines but couldn’t hold it together on the back nine. There were not too many golfers on the course and maybe the powers that be should consider having a low season special to attract more players.

Wednesday, May 25, Treasure Hill (yellow tees) – Medal
1st Jimmy Carr (18) net 68
2nd Neil Carter (15) net 73
3rd Mike Johns (15) net 74
Near Pins: Peter Allen, Jimmy Carr, Mike Johns

14 players made it to Treasure Hill which is so much easier to get to now the new section of the 331 is open. The course was a little jaded but considering the prolonged drought it’s still holding up well and the discount deal is great value.

Jimmy Carr tore things apart with a great net 68 to easily win the day while Neil Carter, still playing very well (Mr Handicapper take note), took second with net 73 just ahead of Mike Johns on net 74.

Peter Allen registered his 4th near pin in a row with his trusty number 2 Driver and Neil Carter consolidated his poll position in the GOM race.

Friday, May 27,The Emerald (white tees) – Stableford
1st Peter Allen (29) 37pts
2nd Jimmy Carr (17) 36pts
3rd Lee Butler (20) 35pts

Near Pins: Tony Robbins, Neil Carter, Les Hall, Jimmy Carr.
Our venue today was switched at short notice and 8 made it to Emerald. As befits the name it was green and in reasonable shape.

Jimmy Carr, following his net 68 on Wednesday, started off with a triple on the first but that was just to get the bets settled as he then had 5 straight pars to end the front nine with 21 points while Neil Carter was not far behind on 19. They both slowed down on the back nine and Peter Allen, overcoming the shock of not getting a near pin, snuck in the back door to take the overall win with 37 points. Jimmy Carr held on to take second with 36 and there was a three-way count back for third, with Lee Butler beating both Geoff Parker and Neil Carter after all three finished on 35 points.
