Sunday, Nov. 26, Green Valley – Stableford

It was another pretty windy day here today at Green Valley but still some excellent golf, especially taking the conditions in to account.  We had two flights with the cut coming in at eighteen.

Pat Carty.

The best scores came from the B flight where Arthur Todd, who was playing his second game with us, had forty points but was beaten to top spot by Pat Carty on count-back.  Joe Peters also played very good golf and was third with thirty seven points and Terry Mangan took the fourth place with thirty five.

In A flight Andy Featherstone, who has lost another shot off his handicap and is now down to four, also played excellent golf and was the winner with thirty eight points after going round the front nine in two under par gross.  Gerry Hannan is another golfer who is in form and today he was second with thirty seven.  JJ Harney got the third place with thirty six and Russell Gilroy was fourth with thirty five.

We had four ‘2’s today, coming from Kevin Blake, Russell Gilroy, Gerry Hannan and JJ Harney.

Tuesday, Nov. 28, Crystal Bay – Stableford

Today here at Crystal Bay where we played the C and A nines in that order.

Nick Caulfield went round in level par despite a bad three-putt on the last hole and scored forty one points off his five handicap to come out a very clear winner of the A flight.  Gerry Hannan took second place with thirty six points, Russell Gilroy was third with thirty four and Craig Hitchens took the fourth and last place with thirty three.

After his excellent forty points on Sunday, Pat Carty went one better today to come in with forty one and win the B Flight ahead of Dan Hobbs on thirty seven.  John Connolly got third on count-back over Mangan, both with thirty points each.

Birdie ‘2’s came from Nick Caulfield, Jean Fok Chak and Ted Morris with one each.

Thursday, Nov. 30, The Emerald – Stableford

We found the Emerald course in reasonable condition although some of the greens weren’t great.  Even though it is now the end of November the course was very quiet and we got teeing off early and got around quickly.

Michael Williams found his form today as he came out a very clear winner of the A flight with an excellent forty points.  Jon Batty took the second place with thirty seven and Daryll Burkett came third with thirty four.

In the B flight Russell Gilroy was the winner with thirty six points, Pat Carty came second with thirty three and Joe Peters got the third and final place with thirty two.

Daryll Burkett and Gary Baring recorded the only ‘2’s of the day.
