Once again the weather was perfect for today’s game, with clear blue sky and a cool breeze.  The course was in fine condition and there were 21 players enough to warrant two flights.

Chaten ‘the Rajah’ Patel took the honours in A flight with a man of the match 41 points and was followed up the podium steps by Steve Mann with 38.  This left Peter ‘the right honorable’ LeNoury to close the flight at a distance with his 31 points

B Flight was won by Barry Tregurtha with his co-man of the match 41-pointer and he was one stroke clear of the man on form Jimmy ‘AK-47’ Bell.  Howard Bland completed the podium with a steady 37 points.

The 2’s prizes were shared by Jim Bell, Steve Mann and David Lusha.

Dec. 5, Tuesday, Green Valley – Stableford

1st Mick Beresford (16) 40pts

2nd Bill Peach (22) 37pts

3rd Steve Mann (12) 37pts

4th Eddy Beilby (21) 36pts

Near Pins: No 8 Steve Mann, No 15 Keith Warboys

Tuesday saw the lads return to Green Valley for our regular mid-week bash.  The course was in fine condition and the weather was hot and humid.  We had sixteen players out today so only one flight was required, but with an extra slot on the podium.

This was gratefully accepted by Eddy ‘the Eagle’ Beilby with a steady even par round.  Two of the society’s nice guys were tied on 37 points – Bill Peach and Steve Mann – with Bill just managing to edge Steve for the silver.  Steve was not that bothered as he won a near pin and had the day’s only 2.

The golf manager came back to form as he posted a fine 40 point for the top spot on the podium and the man of the match honours.

Friday, Dec. 8, The Emerald – Stableford

1st William Macey (21) 41pts

2nd Tony Oakes (14) 40pts

3rd JP Maffray (15) 37pts

4th Mark Watkins (21) 37pts

Near Pins: No 7 Jack Grindvold, No 15 J P Maffray.

The TPL golf society ended a tough week with our usual trip to the Emerald golf club.  The course was in good condition but the greens played very slow.

The man of the match with a fine 41 points was William Macey who is always there or there abouts when he plays with the society.  Tony Oakes pushed William all the way but came up a shot shy for the silver.  Two players were tied on 37 points for the minor flight spots, JP Maffray and Mark Watkins and the resulting count back favored JP’s back nine over Mark’s.

No ‘2’s were recorded.
