The Pattaya Golf Society (IPGC) at Rabbi’s Elephant Bar

The Pattaya Golf Society visited Mountain Shadow on Monday, 10th December, with golfers looking to find their form before the trials of the IPGC Annual Championships later in the week.  The course was in excellent condition and the holiday price represented a good deal for the day.

The field was divided into two flights at fourteen and under and in a tight top flight the Asian golfer “Khun Arai” shot the best gross figures of the day, 81, which gave him third place on 33 points.  In second was Rick Schramm with 34 points whilst the flight was won by Brian Talbot with 35 points, only hours before his departure to a damp and bleak midwinter in Britain.

In the second flight Canadian Gordon Everingham’s 31 points took third place and, looking over the head of second placed Sid Crawley, he could just make out compatriot John Chelo way ahead with 40 points.  This Chelo was certainly striking the right notes.  It was his best round in Pattaya and he is still in the recovery stage of a hip replacement.  Wonderful stuff John!

Sam McLellan shared the ‘2’s pot with Alan Flynn who doubled up on the eighth and seventeenth holes and the Booby Bevy went to Steve Evans, only hours after arriving at Suvarnnabhumi at dawn, for his 19-12 split figures.

To end the presentation, Rabbi graciously rang the bell to celebrate Constitution Day and the motion was unanimously carried.  Good on you boss!
