A full bus and a few cars made their way to the Treasure Hill for today’s battle and battle is the apt term to be used when taking on this challenging course.
It has been mentioned many times before and deservedly so…. this course offers fantastic value for money with 1,250 baht for green fee, very pleasant caddies and cart. The course was in great shape despite a light sanding of the greens which in no way detracted from putting line or length.
Our regular lady player (Lorraine Percy) had no trouble with her chipping and putting and accordingly took out first place with a commendable 37 points. The minor podium places had to be ascertained by means of a count-back and with 20 points on the back nine, Martin Kempton edged out Gordon Clegg (19) and Keith (Kissy) Buchanan, all with 35 points overall.

Twenty plus golfers turned out to compete for this month’s monthly mug and enthusiasm was high as reports coming back to us suggested the Pattavia course was in great shape. I can say that the feedback was a 100% correct – a great course in great shape (if you can handle the greens).
We attacked the layout from the white tees in weather that was hot but with a light breeze that kept our playing conditions quite pleasant.
A Flight saw Mashi Kaneta take the prize from Bill Steinmann, who had finished 6 shots behind. Third past the post was back to form Denis Steele, only 1 shot behind Buffalo Bill.
B Flight produced this month’s mug winner in the shape of Gordon Clegg who shot a 64 net to take a well deserved win, having recently broken the record here for most ‘lost count-backs’. Second was Stu Cassa Rifkin finding his new 19 H/C quite fitting and in third came Shane Jock Young.
It would be remiss of me not to mention Buffalo Bill’s par 5 eagle on the third hole. Buffalo you are a champ in more ways than one!
