Monday, May 21, Silky Oaks – Stableford

Our first game here for some time and there were two divisions out with the equal cut at 9-15.6 and 15.7+. A nice change to be back here but the greens on the front nine were so woolley they were incredibly slow and the back nine just a touch quicker.

Nik Evans recorded the highest score of the day, winning division 1 with 37 points while Neil Gamble took second after beating Paul Butler on a 15/14 back-nine countback, both with 32 points.

Joe Peters topped division 2 with 32 points and one point behind was Paul Young who beat Alan Bissell 13/11 on the back six countback after they both scored 15 on the back nine.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Paul Butler and Neil Gamble, and (Div 2) William Chang.

In the ‘2’s today Nik Evans birdied the 6th and Frank Grainger the 8th in division 2.

Wednesday, May 23, Phoenix Gold – Stableford

Another first round here today for some considerable time for various reasons and with the Lakes nine still closed we were playing the Mountain and Ocean nines.

An almost identical cut as of Monday and with 41 points Steven Cliff won division 2 ahead of Leo Adam in second on 40, Peter Davies third with 34 and Alan Bissell coming fourth on 32.

A 21/18 back-nine countback saw Ian Speirs beat Paul Butler for first place in the premier flight after they both scored 37 points. Paul Young was third on 33 points and Neil Gamble fourth with 32.

Near Pins were claimed by (Div 1) Paul Butler, Conrad (2) and Neil Gamble, and (Div 2) Leo Adam, Alan Bissell and Frank Grainger.

In the ‘2’s today there was a rollover in division 1 but Leo Adam and Alan Bissell both birdied Ocean 5 to share the division 2 spoils.
