Monday, Nov. 19, Pattavia – Stableford

There was nobody in front today and our five groups teed off 30 minutes ahead of schedule. The greens here normally are very slick but with a very thick grain here today it still was a tough test.

Neil Gamble posted the best score of the day, 38 points, to win division 1 ahead of Bob Comartin in second one point behind. Per Forsberg, with a 17/15/15 back nine countback, beat Tim Hake and Dennis Scougall to take third place.

Gil Phillips was the winner in division 2 with 36 points, Steve Harris came second on 35 and Bill Kana was third with 29.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Neil Gamble, Tim Hake and Ron Miller (2), and (Div 2) Alan Bissell and Bill Kana (2).

Dave Chan birdied the fourth for the only ‘2’ in division 1 and there were two rollovers in division 2.

Wednesday, Nov. 21, Khao Kheow – Stableford

We were playing the A and B nines today off the yellow tees and 36 points was the top score of the day, coming from Dennis Scougall to win division 1. Bob Comartin came second, beating Mark Potton 19/18 on countback after they both returned 34 points.

Gerry Cooke, with 21 on the front nine, won division 2 with 34 points overall, Frank Grainger was second on 32 and Gil Phillips third with 30.

Near pins were claimed by (Div 1) Bob Comartin, Tim Hake and Ron Miller (2), and (Div 2) Gerry Cooke, Dave Howden and Gil Phillips.

Ron Miller birdied A5 in division 1 and in division 2 there were three rollovers in the ‘2’s.

Friday, Nov. 23, Eastern Star – Stableford

We had six groups out today with the equal cut at 6-18 and 19+ in division 2 and Canadian Bob Comartin recorded the best score of the day, winning division 1 with 39 points. The Irish boy is back and Jerry McCarthy took second with 35 points and Paul Young, with a 19/18 back nine countback, beat Colin Aspinall for third after they both came in with 32 points.

There was another countback in division 2, where a 20/20 on the back nine and 14/12 on the back six saw Frank Kelly beat Ron Lavette after both scored 36 points overall. Max Wilson was third on 35 and Dave Howden came in fourth, beating John Seton 18/16 after they both shot 29.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Bob Comartin (2), Jerry McCarthy and Marty Rock, and (Div 2) Gerry Cooke.

Colin Aspinall birdied the 6th and Frank Kelly the signature 13th to split the ‘2’s pot.
