With some 60 Outbackers down in Hua Hin for their three day comp. there were just twelve players today at Burapha playing the A & B nines, being run by the capable hands of Joe Mooneyham. Since there was a heavy storm the previous day and night it was decided by all to play from the white tees rather than the usual blue tees. It was cart path only and very wet in places and some of the bunkers still had water in them, so it was also lift, clean and place on the fairways and closely mowed areas.
The long hitting Jim Brackett tore the course apart from the shorter tees shooting 42 points off his 6 H’cp for a gross 72! Well done Jim. Another golfer in form at present is Bob Lindborg who was a winner last Friday at the 16th Annual Pattaya Sports Club Charity Tournament at Green Valley and today came in second place shooting 39 points off his 20 H’cp. Rounding out the top four was Greg Hill (18) with 38 points for third place and fourth was Doug Douglas (22) with 37 points.
Jack Piercefield had the only “2” of the day.
Tuesday, March 20, Pattaya C.C. – Stableford
Pattaya Country Club is in its final throws as a full 18 hole course as it prepares to shut down the back nine for course improvements. There were 13 players but only one real player as J.C. Coulon accumulated a massive 46pts to win by a country mile and lose 5 shots off his handicap in the process. Rumour has it that our organiser, Chad, also shot a massive score a day earlier (Monday) and will soon see his handicap dropping sharply back to his pre-operation days.
