PSC Golf from Colin’s Bar
Sunday, July 24, Green Valley – Stableford
A Flight
1st Phil Davies (15) 41pts
2nd Gary Emmett (19) 35pts
B Flight
1st Mogen’s Melander (26) 33pts
2nd Colin Davis (21) 32pts
Twelve players out today and everyone turned up on time. Unfortunately the course had overbooked on the tee-times and we had to wait half an hour past our scheduled tee time before we could get away, and then followed a slow round.
Phil Davies was fast out of the gate with 23 points on the front nine and he backed that up with 18 on the inward half for 41 in total and top spot in A Flight. In his first game back with us, Gary Emmett finished strongly to take second place behind Phil.
Mogens Melander, playing in the same group as Phil, came in with 33 points for first place in B Flight, just one ahead of Colin Davis.
Monday, July 25, Khao Kheow A & B – Stableford
1st Tip Briney (22) 38pts
2nd John Pirrel (17) 34 pts
Just 7 players for the trip to Khao Kheow and this was always going to be Tip’s day, starting with a birdie on the first and two even 19-point front and back nines for a solid 38 points overall and first place. John Pierrel came in second some way behind on 34.
Back at the bar, Tip rounded off a great day by winning the lucky draw.
Wednesday, July 27, Royal Lakeside – Stableford
1st Nigel Harrison (29) 42pts
2nd New Satita (32) 40pts
3rd Lee Smith (31) 38pts
With no carts on the fairways allowed at Royal Lakeside today we employed the ‘lift clean and cheat’ ruling for our group of 12 golfers. We let a single player tee off before us and thought he would soon be clear but we had not seen the 6-ball that had teed off just before him. This is why we love Thailand!
Nigel Harrison was playing like a pro today with 21 points on each nine for 42 points and top spot. New Satitia got off to a flyer with 26 points on the front side but the wheels partially fell off and she had to be content with second place, 2 points behind Nigel. Newcomer Lee Smith took third place a further 2 points back.
The near pins were claimed by Nigel Harrison and New Satita while the longest putt was made by Neil Smith.
Back at Colin’s Bar, Tommy Carlsson won the lucky draw.
Friday, July 29, Treasure Hill – Stableford
1st Paul West (19) 38pts
2nd Steve Baker (18) 35pts
3rd Colin Davis (21) 35pts
We arrived in good time for our 10.00 am tee off at Treasure Hill and a 1,000 baht green, caddy & cart fee gave us access to a course in excellent condition but trees everywhere.
After a steady start Paul West stormed home with 22 points on the inward nine for 38 overall and sole ownership of first place. Steve Baker had a steady round of 35 ponts to take second place and Colin Davis completed the podium in third after losing out on a count back to Steve.
Near pins went to Stuart Mann & Buzz Helsel and the long putt was won by Paul West.
Nobody won the lucky draw back at the bar so a rollover till next week.
