In a scene straight out of “Jurassic Park”, 3,500 people ran for their lives past ferocious-looking dinosaurs at Nong Nooch Tropical Garden’s first Dinosaur Night Run.
Eakachai Siriyano, abbot of Maisriromyen in Chiang Rai and top Chonburi and Sattahip officials kicked off the 10-kilometer run Dec. 7 at the Najomtien tourist attraction. Shorter 5K and 3.5K runs also were available.
The route took runners through and around the 1,700-rai park, including its new Dinosaur Valley, which features life-sized recreations of some of the best-known giant reptiles from the Cretaceous and Jurassic periods, including Triceratops and Tyrannosaurs Rex.
The run was to drum up publicity for the park’s new attraction, with proceeds pledged to the navy’s Sufficiency Economy Learning Center, army morals and support programs, and the Chonburi Stray Dog Shelter.
