Pattaya United fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat at the hands of Prachuap FC last Saturday, Feb. 24 to dent their chances of keeping pace with the League 1 pacesetters.

Coming off a convincing win over Chainat Hornbills the previous week, United were hoping for a positive result to move them into the top half of the table, but those aspirations came undone as they faced an inspired team at the Sam Ao Stadium in Prachuap.

The hosts took the lead in the 20th minute when Guinean striker Lonsana Doumbouya ghosted into the United area to head the ball past goalkeeper Khammai with the Dolphins’ defence looking static.

Prachuap doubled their lead 10 minutes into the second half when United failed to clear their lines and Montenegrin defender Adnan Orahovac headed in at the far post.

Pattaya failed to create any clear cut chances and were well beaten on the day.

United’s next League 1 match is a local derby against Navy at the Nongrprue Stadium in Pattaya on Saturday, March 3.  Kick-off is scheduled for 8pm.
