A small group of 6 golfers took on the challenge of Silky Oak today. The course was in excellent condition and with a 3-ball and a 2-ball in front of us we all hoped for a quick round.
Playing in the first group, Gary Emmett scorched out of the blocks with 23 points on the front-nine and 41 overall. Alas for him though the Donkey, playing in the group behind, finished fast on the rails and equalled Gary’s score but edged him off top spot courtesy of 22 points on the inward half.
Stan Stewart and Steve Coghlan both started well with outward nines of 21 and 20 points respectively but they faded badly on the back-nine.
Near pins went to Tony Cliff & Geoff Bracegirdle.
