PSC Golf from The Golf Club
Monday, August 24, Green Valley (white tees) – Stableford
1st John Hutt (22) 36pts
2nd Adrian Dembrinski (21) 34pts
T3rd Stephen Dunn (0) 33pts
T3rd Jimmy Dundon (17) 33pts
T3rd Gary Emmett (18) 33pts
First off, Bam dropped by to remind us of the annual Jesters Children’s Fair on Sunday the 6th September at the Regents School from 11-5. With music, great food and many stalls and events it is a great day out, and you don’t need to have kids to attend! This is a huge charity event in Pattaya so if you need a ride out, just give us a call and we will get you there.
Monday winner John Hutt with Jimmy Dundon and Gary Emmett.
Back to the golf, and 3 at 33 we haven’t seen in a long time, but today was an auspicious (not suspicious) day for us. You see, our address on LK Metro is 33/133, so the numbers all clicked! I digress, it was a fine day for golf once again here at Green Valley and good numbers as 6 groups went out today.
Not the best scoring we have seen, but one of us managed to get to his handicap number at least. With Stephen, Jimmy and Gazza all in that 33 club, it was only Adrian Dembrinski at 34 points to bridge the gap. John Hutt was once again on the top of the heap and his 36 point round was the best of the day!
Tuesday, August 25, Khao Kheow B & C (white tees) – Stableford
1st Michael Otterman (17) 35pts
T2nd Jimmy Dundon (17) 29pts
T2nd Ken Sorensen (15) 29pts
Only one guy got more than 30 Stableford points out there today? Are you kiddin’ me? I’m just sayin’! We all know that Khao Kheow can be a monster of a course on some days, and I guess this was one of those days. Sounds like it ate ‘em alive but I wasn’t there to count the bodies.

Anyway, 29 points was good enough to tie for third and Jimmy Dundon and Ken Sorensen did just that. Blowing away the field with a 6-stroke victory was visiting Swedish-Israeli-American Michael Otterman who was the only golfer to tame this Pete Dye track. The man with 5 languages under his belt (I’m really not jealous, really) took control on the back nine as his iron play was the key factor.
Thursday, August 27, Burapha C & D (white tees) – Stableford
1st Michael Otterman (17) 43pts
2nd Darryl Evans (22) 37pts
3rd Ken Sorensen (15) 36pts
The great Burapha was our golfing destination today and it was an eagerly anticipated event, with 24 golfers trekking to the tees. The C & D nines were on the agenda and the slightly overcast skies made for an absolutely perfect day.
We love this golf course, it is definitely one of the best in Pattaya and host to many Asian Tour events, which makes this a must play for the first time visitor. You can always count on Burapha to be in excellent shape, and it was. There were 4 or 5 guys who were playing here for the first time and they commented how good the condition and the layout was.
Ken Sorensen was back up on the podium, and with 36 points he managed a 7 stroke improvement on his round on Tuesday at Khao Kheow! Nice shootin’ Kenny, and well played to Darryl Evans who ended up one shot better on 37 for second place merits.
Story of the week must be Michael Otterman, who won again today and his 43 was once again 6 strokes ahead of the next guy! Those approach shots were his saviour and left short putts that were mostly made. That’s great golf Michael, and a great way to end you holiday in Pattaya.
Thanks to all who joined us this week for another 3 rounds of perfect golf.
