PSC Golf from The Golf Club
Update: That update I gave you last week about playing the new Parichart course was wrong. I got a call on Tuesday and they said that we could not play there on the Friday as it was now a private course and only accepting membership applications. I believe the number 250,000 baht was for a 15 year membership. Good luck to them.
Monday, March 16, Green Valley (white tees) – Stableford
1st John Emmerson (16) 39pts
T2nd Walter Baechli (15) 37pts
T2nd Peter LeNoury (11) 37pts
Green Valley was looking and playing fantastic once again as 28 golfers took on this day’s competition. TGC partner John Emmerson found his form and his 39 points proved to be unbeatable. Regulars Peter LeNoury and Walter Baechli kept the tourists at bay and the podium was loaded with locals for a change. Nice shootin’ boys!

You may be wondering why we only had 3 ‘Christmas card’ envelopes to hand out today, but the reason being was we had a slew of golfers on 36 which would have diluted the handsome man vouchers considerably. That’s why.
Wednesday, March 18, Burapha – PSC Charity Classic
Please see the write-up of this event on pages 48 & 46 of this week’s Pattaya Mail. It was a pleasure for The Golf Club to sponsor the 16th hole at Burapha for the Pattaya Sports Club’s biggest annual charity fundraiser. The golf course was in absolutely fabulous condition and I must say that the “B” track is just one spectacular collection of golf holes.
Thank you to PSC Golf Chairman Mark West and all the volunteers who took the day off golf and worked the course to make this a very organized and enjoyable event followed by a great night at the Amari’s Tavern by the Sea for the dinner and presentation! If you won one of our Antigua golf shirts, wear it in good health!
Friday, March 20, Phoenix (white tees) – Stableford
1st Kenny Aihara (3) 38pts
2nd David Deira (18) 32pts
3rd Billy Eyles (17) 31pts
This was a last minute change of course due to the fact that Parichart would not allow us to play there (see update above). Never mind, in Pattaya we are spoilt for choice and were very happy to find that Phoenix had availability for us.
The course was in super condition and it was just beautiful weather for a bunch of mates to get there and play a great golf course so close to town and have a knock.
Kenny Aihara was in his usual fine form, however today he chose to play some shots we had never seen him play before as it was a friendly comp for a change. He used his rescue club around the fringe to great effect and pulled off some risky chips that were highly successful. That was all it took for Kenny to beat the field one more time, nice job Ken!
Thanks to all who joined us for another amazing week of golf in paradise.
