Monday, March 5, Green Valley (white tees) – Stableford

1st Gary Emmett (15) 40pts

2nd Andy Makara (28) 39pts

3rd Peter LeNoury (17) 38pts

As the old adage goes, the early bird catches the worm.  And so it was today that the lads who were first out did indeed do best.  It was a podium of the locals at RGV today and Peter LeNoury started us off with a 38 on the card, a shot fewer than Andy Makara with 39.

He won here the previous week and did it again today, but this time a point better hitting that big 40 target.  We’re talkin’ about Gary Emmett and his continued streak of fine play on this course.  As a member here, Gary knows all the bumps and rolls.  Today he definitely got the members bounces so nice going mate.  Mimi Fujimoto grabbed the near pin.

Tuesday, March 6, Greenwood (white tees) – Stableford

1st Scott King (22) 40pts

2nd Mitch Black (16) 37pts

T-3rd Kenny Aihara (7) 36pts

T-3rd Greg Gowron (10) 36pts

It was a case of rain in town, but not on the course and those who bailed out at the last minute learned a lesson this morning.

Greenwood was in perfect condition for our 50 minute trip out and well worth the few more minutes spent in getting here.  Kenny and Greg Gawron ended tied at third with 36.  Mitch Black did them one better with a 37 on the card.

With a rare birdie (on a par-5) it was Scott King who earned the most handsome man vouchers in the envelope today.  Scott and brother Gilbert are from Tennessee and a great addition to our band of merry men.  Steve Sweeney took the near pin.

Thursday, March 8, Royal Lakeside (white tees) – Stableford

1st Mimi Fujimoto (7) 39pts

2nd Kenny Aihara (7) 38pts

T-3rd Scott King (23) 37pts

T-3rd Steve Sweeney (21) 37pts

It took us just over one hour to get here this morning so take note that the new motorway has cut the time by 20 minutes.  It was a doddle getting here so access to a number of golf courses on this side of the airport has opened up a whole new selection of choices.

The course was beautiful and inviting so off we went to see how well we would do today.  With an equal 37, Scott King and Steve Sweeney shared third place.  TGC institution Kenny Aihara had a 38 today for sole second place, with first going to fellow Japanese Mimi Fujimoto on the 39 point shelf.  Big hitting Chris Evans took our near pin.

Friday, March 9, Parichat Links (white tees) – 1-Man Scramble

1st Kenny Aihara (7) 41pts

2nd Doc Beard (18) 39pts

3rd Zed Beloglavec (17) 38pts

A 1-man scramble is a great format for this course as a few of their more quirky holes can get rather frustrating.  You are allowed one Mulligan per hole and it can be used anywhere.  There are no carry overs and once you deem the ball in play then that is your ball.

Scores were on the low side and the winner, Kenny Aihara, could only muster up a 41.
