Jomtien Golf with the IPGC
Monday, Nov. 29, Treasure Hill – Stableford.
This was our first visit here for at least 18 months for various reasons and the course is still a good test of golf and was enjoyed by all. The greens were the slickest we’ve played on for a long time, there was only one downside, there was a tournament here the next day and the white and yellow tees were all in temporary positions but we have re-booked for next month.
Thirty-six points was the highest score of the day in all four divisions with the equal cut 0-15 in division 1, 16-19 division 2, and 20 plus in division 3. Noi Emmerson was on the rostrum again winning the ladies division with 36 points and Geoff Stubbs with the same score took division 1, with Peter Seward second five points behind and Frank Kelly in third place on 29.
Billy Hewitt’s 36 points was the best in division 2 with Sassa in second place on 34 and Howard Stanley beat the French frog on a 19/17 count-back after they both scored 32 points.
Marty Aronson topped division 3 with 34 points with William Chang second one point behind and Fred Duffy third on 31.
Frank Kelly birdied the 13th to claim the only ‘2’ of the day with 38 players out so a rollover in division two ensues to Green Valley on Wednesday week.
Near pins went to Frank Kelly, Takimoto, Gert Velsberg, Chris Voller, Martyn Arnold, Peter Grant, Mike Lewis and Les Smith.
It was Bon Voyage to Wendy and Mike Lewis, Georges Faber and Sassa who will all be returning in the new year, see you soon!
